Collaboration

Fun collaboration with my friend Cat.
Her fine delicate lines demanded some playing around with colors.

Threyda

Threyda is a clothing company to which i had the honor of participating in with Cubensis :

(The type is a quote in honor of the late Terence Mckenna -
"..reclaim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers who want to turn you into a half-baked moron consuming all this trash that's being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world.")

Here are some pictures of the T-shirts, which you can buy by accessing Threyda website

Daily sketch + photos

Today was a brilliant of a Sunday, so i decided to go for a walk with both my sketchbook and my camera at hands.

Today's sketches, most of wich were done inside the warmness of the Forest Cafe, a volunteer-based cafe i like to go every now and then.

Sunset at Teviot Place, the building to the left is the Edinburgh University

Walking back home, this was the view of the Links, with the church tower in the landscape (the same one i drew here )

New Sketchbook

Some photos of a sketchbook i`ve recently made. I had the idea of having a double-double-spread by stitching together two small sketchbooks to form one, having it open in the middle. I`d say this experiment was somewhat successful, with minor screw-ups along the way. But over all quite happy with the result. The cover is made of pieces of leather i had lying around from an old 2005 diary, they close in the middle with a magnet. Now its time to explore the possibilities of a 2-in-1 sketchbook

Editorial Layout

This is what i came up with for a short assignment on designing a hypothetical newspaper double spread. Briefing asked for lots of boldness and mainstream avoidance. Two articles used, the first one extracted from the Ultraculture Journal introduction by Jasoun Louv, which i highly recommend reading. The other one is about an application of Biomimicry (discipline that studies nature’s best ideas
and then imitates these designs and processes to solve human problems.) on inkless color-printing. Quite mind-bogling stuff.
I should give the propper credits for my good friend Felipe Duarte for letting me use his sketch for the devil illustration.

Moleskine sketches

Finally! after quite a few hours struggling in an epic and tiresome battle with CSS through the night, the morning brings forth a brand new portfolio website for me to play with. I even managed to include this blog in it, task i thought to be impossible, turned out was the easiest part of it all. It's still full of flaws and things to be tweaked though, and i'm still on the long process of filling up the galleries with my works, but here's some city sketches from my moleskine just to inaugurate (and test) the new space.
